The Baptistery (Battistero) is located across the piazza from the Duomo, Florence's massive gothic cathedral.  Dating back to the 4th century, the Baptistery is one of the oldest buildings in Florence Italy (Firenza).

The Baptistery's bronze doors were designed by Lorenzo Ghiberti.  Michelangelo called these doors "the gate of paradise".
