The San Lorenzo church is located near the Duomo Cathedral in Florence
Italy. It was the parish church for the affluent Medici family. The
Medici mausoleum, some beautiful frescos and other important works of art can
be found in San Lorenzo church. Among them, is a Mannerist staircase to the
palace library (Biblioteca) which was designed by Michelangelo and built by
Ammannati in 1559.
The Medici Chapels (Capelle Medicee) is
attached to the church.
